Pet Haven Park Cemetery

Pet Cemeteries are neither new nor a fad.

They are as old as the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt.

Early Chinese emperors maintained a dog cemetery at Peking

with tombstones of marble, silver and gold.

There are currently pet cemeteries throughout the United States

and the entire world.

Established in 1979, Pet Haven Cemetery is a part of the Wilbarger Humane Society facilities.  It is the final resting place for many beloved pets. As pet owners ourselves, we understand the special bond that exists between humans and our companion animals. We know firsthand how difficult it is to lose a special pet, and know how overwhelming it can be to make decisions at the time of loss.

Depending upon the size of the pet, burial plots & services range from $25 to $50.  This price does not include a headstone.  The pet owner may provide a headstone if they so choose.

It is permissible to leave flowers, real or artificial, and/or a memento on the grave.  Please note that as the grounds are maintained, the staff will make every attempt to keep the items at the appropriate site.  However, as the items become weather-worn, they may be removed and discarded.

If a pet needs to be put to sleep due to illness, injury or incapacitation due to advanced age, this service can be provided also. The cost ranges from $25 to $50 depending upon the size of the pet.

You may choose to take your pet back home to be buried closer to you. We do not require pet owners to use our burial services if WHS puts the pet asleep.
